alzheimer's disease research center
Did you know there are more than 30 Alzheimer's Disease Research Centers (ADRCs) across the country? Funded by NIA, ADRCs are dedicated to developing and testing new ways to detect, diagnose, treat, and prevent Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. The centers also focus on improving care for people whose lives are touched by dementia.
For families affected by Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, the ADRCs offer four important resources:
- Help with obtaining diagnosis and managing care
- Information about the diseases, services, and resources
- Opportunities to participate in clinical trials and studies to improve our understanding of dementia
- Support groups and other special programs for participants and their families
Visit the Alzheimers.gov website to learn more about ADRCs and find a center near you to explore current research, support groups, and other local resources.
