How did you become the caregiver for your loved one?
I am the live-in caregiver for my Pastor’s mother going into my 9th year, She is truly my baby. She is 99 years old and I’m praying that she lives to see 100.
Has your relationship changed with the loved one that you are caring for? If so how?
I love her soooo much but right now she is under Hospice care at home for last stages of dementia and several decubitus ulcers
What is the hardest thing about being a caregiver and the most rewarding thing?
The hardest thing is seeing her suffer like she is now with the ulcers The most rewarding is that I love her so much and am trying to make her as comfortable as possible, even putting stuffed animals around her so she doesn't feel alone in her hospital bed.
What advice would you give to other caregivers?
Just please be patient, kind, and loving and really truly care for whomever you take care of or maybe look for work in another field.
In ten words or less, what has caregiving taught you?
That Love truly is my gift from God
Describe a situation where being a Fearless Caregiver helped you succeed?
When I always put My Baby's well-being first concerning her health and even going against some of her family members
