Welcome to CareNotes. In this special section we will feature a reader's letter and provide an opportunity for an interactive exchange that will help find some answers and possible solutions to concerns.
Alzheimer's and Hearing Aids
My 85 year old husband can't seem to hang onto hearing aids. One is lost in the back yard leaf/ compost pile, the other one was taken out and tucked in a pocket, shirt pants jacket. Who knows?
I always have to remind him to wear them and take them out with his night pills...obviously not always.
He is in early mid-stage AD. I of course mumble!. He can't understand dialogue in movies due to hearing loss--that and Alzheimer's.
Replacement cost for the hearing aids is~ $4K please advise.
