How did you become the caregiver for your loved one?
I fell in love...
Has your relationship changed with the loved one that you are caring for? If so how?
Yes, seeing past the "Practicality" of everyone's interpretation of "Love". Giving of oneself through the storms of change of life, brings you to me knees. The 'Gift of Helping" another is priceless, when the "Blessings" have been grand. Time & faith...
What is the hardest thing about being a caregiver and the most rewarding thing?
Knowing I have no control of my husband's health, is the hardest. Knowing, I have touched his "Soul", in the darkest of times we have faced. To be there till the end with "Love & Forgiveness". Knowing life brings us many changes & working through.
What advice would you give to other caregivers?
Have "Patience, Empathy & Forgiveness". Disease doesn't discriminate against relationships. Keep an open conversation about everything, NO SECRETS of on going changes. We are all in this together.
In ten words or less, what has caregiving taught you?
Patience, Faith, Empathy, Friendship, Happiness & Hope...
Describe a situation where being a Fearless Caregiver helped you succeed?
Praying for my husband, when he prays to GOD to take him so the pain can stop, daily. Knowing to find the "Blessings" of everyday, all day being part of someone/ something greater than myself.
