How did you become the caregiver for your loved one?
Being the youngest of my 3 siblings, after my parents got divorced i followed my mom to live in McAllen.
Has your relationship changed with the loved one that you are caring for? If so how?
We have always been close. Nothings changed, she's still the positive thinker and always fearless. Problem solver I've always seen her as part of my team. She helps me more than I help her.
What is the hardest thing about being a caregiver and the most rewarding thing?
The most rewarding is having the opportunity to love them to the fullest every day. The hardest thing is wanting to give them health back and feeling helpless because it's out of our control.
What advice would you give to other caregivers?
Take advantage of every moment to make good memories and follow traditions. These memories are what will instill love and peace in our hearts forever.
In ten words or less, what has caregiving taught you?
Patience, love, life. Don't take your loved ones for granted.
