How did you become the caregiver for your loved one?
By helping my 97 year old grandmother with her therapies after hip and knee surgeries.
Has your relationship changed with the loved one that you are caring for? If so how?
We have gotten closer and we have a bond that cannot or won't break. I have helped her for 10 years and counting and I have enjoyed helping her.
What is the hardest thing about being a caregiver and the most rewarding thing?
The hardest thing about being a caregiver is dealing with drama and the best thing is rewarding myself by serving others.
What advice would you give to other caregivers?
The best advice I can give is that you don't have to look much further to see someone less fortunate than you are. Honestly having a heart and a concern for others who are not able to take care of themselves should be the main reason to become a caregiver.
In ten words or less, what has caregiving taught you?
To care and serve others
