Now that the calendar has turned to 20 and 22
The question arises about just what we all should do
How can we continue on past this year two
How do we worry and fear about our families so dear
How do we strain to watch our loved ones in pain
How do we bear the isolation blanketing the nation, from young to old, in the heat and in the cold
I have the answer and it is honest and true, you watch what the family caregivers do
For the simple fact is, that in these very few years everyone you know now lives the life that the family caregiver bears
So, a bit of advice from those who’ve paid their caregiving dues from before the pandemic to after it’s no longer news
Always lead with love
Accept humor as a gift from above
Let your voice be heard, as it is your due
most important of all, remember to also care for you
Covid has been in our midst since twenty and zero
Which has introduced us to many a hero
From first responder to those grocery clerking, we honor all that have kept things working
You can also be a hero, if you keep this one thing in mind, always remember to everyone be kind
