You have made sure your senior loved one has all the love in your heart and best possible medical support available as you care for them. They are safe at your home or theirs and you are keeping them as calm and safe.
Yet in many cases, there may be something that will help make your loved ones life better in many ways.
If your loved one has a beloved pet that is an important part of their life, and can still be maintained in their home (or even brought to a facility)after their diagnosis, it could be the best possible medicine for them. Or, if I may, mutt-icine.
To keep them well and healthy you need to:
- Make sure they are well hydrated (especially in the parts of the country that are experiencing extreme heat).
- Make sure to keep their vet appointments.
- Make sure they are fed on schedule.
And if the time comes that it is no longer safe for your loved one and/or their pet to stay together please try to find a loving new family for them. It’s the least they deserve.
Hopefully this mutt-icine helps keep your loved one feline safe and well for as long as possible.
