You walk into the room with a sense of familiarity,
as though you know me, as though you’ve been here before.
Who are you? This person that feels comfortable in a seemingly strange place.
Are you someone I should know?
Are you someone that knows me?
Have we ever met?
If we’ve met, did we like each other?
You seem like someone I would like.
You seem like a person I would want to know.
Do I know you?
Come closer and let me look at you.
Your face is warm, your smile familiar.
Your touch is full of love, your eyes full of longing.
A longing for something, someone, a time past.
Is it? Could it be? Yes, I remember.
We danced in the moonlight,
we loved in the sand.
It’s you, isn’t it?
You are the one I agreed to love, honor and
cherish just yesterday.
It’s you, the one I said I would care for in sickness and health.
It’s you.
