Always See You Sometimes I watch you sleep, In those hours you are who you were And I am just your wife. Sleep is not disabled And I sit in your wheelchair So I can't see it, up close, beside you, I only see you. When I close my eyes and drift You are young and standing, Tall, beside me and once More we can lie together And both your arms are mine again, We are so close that I can only see you. If I step back in full day light My eyes will touch your Wheeled chair, your bed with Rails and motors, your life spread Out on one working side So I step close.. So I can only see you. Your eyes are full of love and Sometimes fear and uncertainty, Without words you tell me you Are sorry for what you could Not help and what has become Our life and I touch your Face and whisper... I can only see.....you.
