Caring for husband with a stroke

I take care of my husband who recently had a mild stroke and I wanted to know is there a object that I can use to remind him to take his medicine when I am not home. And is there anything else I can use for him?

I hope your husband's recovery continues well. Such challenging times already.
I'm not a full time caregiver but suggested this to a cancer treatment patient whose memory gaps kept her from taking her meds on time. I told her to simply set a timer on her cell phone for the proper hour. Hoping this helps.

Cell phone works

My husband has Parkinson's and has to take medicine 7 times a day. I have alarms set on his cell phone for each of the times, and they're set to repeat every day. We use that whether I'm at home or gone. I'm trying to keep him independent as long as possible for whatever he can manage on his own. I have a weekly pill container that I use for each day (it has 7 openings) for his various pills. I put white tape over each day of the week and wrote the time of day that he takes his pills. When his alarm goes off on his cell phone, he knows which little box to open and take.

If he doesn't have a cell phone, you might try your bedside alarm or other timers you may have in the house. His cell works great because we didn't have to buy anything separate. He keeps his phone on him during the day, in case he needs to reach me and can't get to a landline.

Hope this helps. I know it's tough to be away and leave them alone and not worry.
