Daily Living Centers was the first Adult Day Health Care program in Oklahoma beginning in 1974. Our four centers are professionally staffed with Certified Nurse Aides and LPNs who provide health monitoring and can assist with eating toileting and medication administration. Each center provides healthy meals and snacks to our participants. Each participant is encouraged to participate in individual and group-oriented activities aimed at improving body, mind and spirit. Activities include socialization, physical movement, exercise, arts and crafts as well as outings to keep individuals connected with the community around them.
This type of holistic program helps promote the individual’s functional well-being to avoid more costly levels of care. Bathing can be difficult for caregivers, so the DLC provides hydro-massage whirlpool bathing for a nominal fee. We offer our participants’ caregivers the gift of respite care, which gives them time to rest, be employed, relax and care for other family members. In addition, we offer caregiver support groups, resources, and training. Caregivers describe the care offered at DLC as “lifesaving”, as services allow caregivers to resume employment and prevents caregiver burnout knowing both supervision and socialization are expertly managed.
