How did you become the caregiver for your loved one?
I knew from a early age on that I have a gift of taking care of our sweet elders and that is why and how I am still to this day love taking care of our elders
Has your relationship changed with the loved one that you are caring for? If so how?
It has only changed in a way that the longer I am with my sweet elders the more I fall in love with them and visa-versa.
What is the hardest thing about being a caregiver and the most rewarding thing?
I would have to say that the hardest thing is to loose a Resident once God calls them home . There are many many rewarding things but one of them would be to see them smile and the Resident including their family members let you know they love you
What advice would you give to other caregivers?
You must have the capability to really love the elders, to hug them , to give them a smooch and to do your best to bring them happiness.
In ten words or less, what has caregiving taught you?
Patience, giving of yourself, being there for them all times
Describe a situation where being a Fearless Caregiver helped you succeed?
I always wanted to be my own boss and I always knew that being a caregiver is my calling. So when I turned 45 I decided to open up my own ALF in Fla . My Motto was...A DREAM TO DARE..A BELIEF IN SELF..THE COURAGE TO PERSEVERE
