How did you become the caregiver for your loved one?
I came out of a bad divorce and needed a place to stay. He needed a caregiver. We had known each other for 25 yrs. I moved in and it changed our relationship to marriage - 7 yearrs later.
Has your relationship changed with the loved one that you are caring for? If so how?
Yes. Since I am his sole caregiver, I have become more of a nurse. It does change the romantic aspect of my love. Not willingly.
What is the hardest thing about being a caregiver and the most rewarding thing?
Watching him suffer and to even walk. Watching the little things that make him happy.
What advice would you give to other caregivers?
Give yourself time alone or doing something you love to avoid burnout.

Love is unconditional
