Welcome to CareNotes. In this special section we will feature a reader's letter and provide an opportunity for an interactive exchange that will help find some answers and possible solutions to concerns.
Memories
Mom was diagnosed with Alz in Dec 2018 and she's been with me since Nov 2018, and my siblings and I are researching memory care homes. I've noted that if she doesn't speak or see my sister or brother often she forgets their names or that she has children. I've made her photo albums to highlight her marriage (my dad passed in 2006); our childhood and recent memories with grandchildren.
It is challenging and I'm waiting for the day she looks at me and can't remember who I am..though she's had some moments where I get a blank look but it passes quickly.
