Fearless Caregiver Profile: Jasmin Garcia

How did you become the caregiver for your loved one?

I become a caregiver for my loved one when my mother and father became sick and I took care of them and also when I worked in Victoria  Nursing and Rehabilitation Center wherein I assisted the patients.

Has your relationship changed with the loved one that you are caring for? If so how?

It changed so much that they would feel my care and  the sincerity of my heart in helping them. It is by showing them how much I care and taking care of them, assisting them, giving them and reminding them about their meds and preparing their food.

What is the hardest thing about being a caregiver and the most rewarding thing?

The hardest and at the same time heart melting to see them in pain and deteriorating physically. It is fulfilling and rewarding if they are getting strong and fighting because of your help.

What advice would you give to other caregivers?

Professions and job is just one thing but being there for your patients with love, tenderness and care is another thing that will never be forgotten by them.

In ten words or less, what has caregiving taught you?

It thought me to be nice, kind, patient and considerate with my patients

Describe a situation where being a Fearless Caregiver helped you succeed?

It is when I decided to go back to school to pursue and study nursing to be of better help to my patients and love ones.
