Fearless Caregiver Profile: Carol Hubler

How did you become the caregiver for your loved one?

My grandma needed help so I offered to help her.

Has your relationship changed with the loved one that you are caring for? If so how?

We became really close. She really enjoyed having me come over we would have cookies and tea. She would tell me how much she looked forward to me coming over. She always had a smile.

What is the hardest thing about being a caregiver and the most rewarding thing?

The hardest part of being a Caregiver is losing a Client. The best part of being a Caregiver is knowing you're making a difference in their life.

What advice would you give to other caregivers?

Treat your clients the same way you would want your loved one treated.

In ten words or less, what has caregiving taught you?

Don't take life for granted.

Describe a situation where being a Fearless Caregiver helped you succeed?

Had a client that didn't want help but after I was there and did not take her dignity away from her, we became friends. She was glad I was there.
