How did you become the caregiver for your loved one?

STROKE IN 1996/DEMENTIA 2013

Has your relationship changed with the loved one that you are caring for? If so how?

I've gained a deeper understanding

What is the hardest thing about being a caregiver and the most rewarding thing?

Hardest: Watching a loved one fade away. Rewarding: Being able to spend each day with them.

What advice would you give to other caregivers?

Take care of yourself.

In ten words or less, what has caregiving taught you?

Just be there for them..

Describe a situation where being a Fearless Caregiver helped you succeed?

When he picked up an ax and said he was gong to  hit me with it and I stepped up and took it away from him.  Then I told him it was bedtime and he should go get in bed and go to sleep.  He did and within 10 minutes he was asleep.
