Fearless Caregiver Profile: Jan Kennedy

How did you become the caregiver for your loved one?

During the last year my husband's muscle weakness in legs and arms as well as breathing problems seriously deteriorated.

Has your relationship changed with the loved one that you are caring for? If so how?

We've gone from being mostly equals to him being more needy and me doing most of the work.

What is the hardest thing about being a caregiver and the most rewarding thing?

The hardest thing is being responsible for almost everything in our lives.

What advice would you give to other caregivers?

Reach to others as much as possible and try to share the work.

In ten words or less, what has caregiving taught you?

There are things I can do that I didn't think I could.

Describe a situation where being a Fearless Caregiver helped you succeed?

Asking for prayer for my husband.  Things seemed to be better after that.
