Thank You Caregiver Nation Initiative

There are 15+ million family caregivers nationwide caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or dementia. These individuals are motivated by unconditional love, yet overwhelmed by stress, exhaustion and feelings of isolation.

With 20 years of expertise supporting caregivers of complex individuals, Seniorlink designed a campaign to recognize these selfless caregivers for the work they do. And so, Thank You Caregiver Nation Initiative was born. 

In 2017, and in conjunction with National Family Caregiver Month, Thank You Caregiver Nation launched with the “My Wish” video on social media. This powerful video features Pam, a woman diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s reading a letter she penned to her husband and caregiver, Bob. The letter encourages family and friends to support Bob -- reminding them to not forget Bob and how her diagnosis will impact him along their journey.

The video generated over 500,000 views, hundreds of heartfelt comments and recently, won a New England Emmy for outstanding PSA. It also prompted 3,000+ caregivers to join Caregiver Nation, Seniorlink’s Facebook community where caregivers can connect, vent, share tips and gather resources.
