How did you become the caregiver for your loved one?
I became the caregiver I am today by taking care of my grandparents growing up and found a love for what I do today.
Has your relationship changed with the loved one that you are caring for? If so how?
My grandparents had passed not too long ago but my relationship with the work I do has not changed. I appreciate the opportunity to work with the individuals that I do.
What is the hardest thing about being a caregiver and the most rewarding thing?
The hardest thing as a caregiver is witnessing your individual not getting the care they deserve and seeing them decline very quickly, but the most rewarding thing is them positively making progress and improving.
What advice would you give to other caregivers?
My advice would be to always be patient and give that individual the care they deserve, everyone is different and has different needs.
In ten words or less, what has caregiving taught you?
To always be caring and patient with everyone around you.
Describe a situation where being a Fearless Caregiver helped you succeed?
It has helped me succeed by teaching me a lot of valuable life lessons I wouldn’t know if I hadn’t became a CNA. I’ve been able to help other people besides my patients and make their life better because of the knowledge I know now.
