How did you become the caregiver for your loved one?
I became a caregiver when my loved one’s health declined and they needed additional support with daily activities and medical needs. With my CNA experience and passion for helping others, I stepped into the role to ensure they received compassionate, quality care.
Has your relationship changed with the loved one that you are caring for? If so how?
Yes. Our relationship has grown stronger through trust, patience, and understanding. Caregiving has allowed me to support them through difficult moments while creating a deeper bond and appreciation for the time we share together.
What is the hardest thing about being a caregiver and the most rewarding thing?
The hardest part is watching someone you care about struggle. The most rewarding part is knowing your support improves their quality of life and helps them maintain dignity, comfort, and independence.
What advice would you give to other caregivers?
Give yourself grace, ask for help when needed, and remember that self-care is not selfish. You cannot provide your best care for others if you neglect your own well-being.
In ten words or less, what has caregiving taught you?
Strength, patience, compassion, resilience, and the power of presence.
Describe a situation where being a Fearless Caregiver helped you succeed?
During a medical emergency, I remained calm, assessed the situation, and acted quickly to get appropriate care. Staying focused under pressure helped ensure my loved one received timely treatment and support.
