Your Turkey Day Gift To Us All

by

Regular readers of this newsletter may notice that this column is landing on the wrong day. In fact, some may be quite (rightly) peeved, since today is usually the day that Fearless Caregivers share their profiles with us.

There are two reasons for this truly abhorrent behavior on my behalf.  Reason One is that this Thursday, my regular column day, is Thanksgiving and two days from now, I firmly believe that I will be well on my way to starting my annual holiday gorge-athon. Shortly thereafter, the tryptophan will set in and I’ll be onto a much-desired nap, and

Reason Two is because I find real similarities between our amazing Fearless Caregiver Profile authors and Thanksgiving.  Allow me to elaborate. Elaboration One: their Fearless Caregiver Profiles stories are always a treat (think sweet potatoes and marshmallows), and Elaboration Two, just like family on Thanksgiving (but without the bickering and kid’s tables) we are blessed by these caregivers sharing their lives with us. I always look forward to these profiles and think that they help so many caregivers who have discovered a missing piece of their own caregiving puzzle from reading them.

I would ask only one holiday gift of you this season. Please share your own Fearless Caregiver profile.  It is one gift that will help countless caregivers and, on their behalf,...I say thank you.

Oh yes there is one more similarity between the profiles and the holiday season – and it comes through the immortal words of Charles Dickens author of both A Christmas Carol. In Prose. Being a Ghost Story of Christmas and Oliver Twist; or, the Parish Boy's Progress. “Please sir, may I have some more!”
