“Oh, the people we’ll meet.”

by

On October 20th 1995, I picked up the receiver of a telephone which was attached by a phone cord to the wall to call a number in Atlanta, GA in order to reserve the website address of our new  caregiving community caregiver.com.

Little did we know then that we were reserving one of the first 100,000 of the billions of URL's reserved since that day and even more important, little did we know about the tremendous interactions we would have with the most impressive people in the world —family and professional caregivers.

From the early days of text only articles and chats to the interviews with celebrity caregivers and experts to caregivers sharing their fearless caregiving stories, email newsletters, topic specific channels, podcasts and videos, caregiver.com has been and remains a comfortable home for caregivers online to learn, teach, laugh, cry and share with one another.

The value of interacting with caregivers through caregiver.com has never been more important than in these past 18 months, since the advent of covid-19 as isolation is truly the killer and we do all we can to battle it every day.

These first 26 years of sharing our hearts, our stories and  solutions with one another as Family Caregiver's only makes me excited to learn what the next 26 years will have to offer.

Yet, I know one thing remains constant and that is the fact that all we do and all we ever do is for and about caregivers.  And always will be.
