Happy Thanksaversary

by

I have been receiving many kind messages from friends and associates (and even folks I didn’t know I knew) on my LinkedIn page congratulating me on my 23rd work anniversary here at caregiver. It’s like how Facebook never lets people in your contact list forget things, such as your birthday, even if, as the years go by, you fervently wish to do so (Ok Facebook, cut it out!) As well as your Friendiversary, which is what they call how long you have been Facebook friends with particular folks on your contact list.

I was thinking that this system could really be put to good use if they reminded you of such important things as how many times you got up in the middle of the night, last night, to visit the restroom, how long since your grandchildren called or even where you may have left your keys. But I digress.

When I started to receive these congratulatory messages about my 23rd work anniversary, the first thing I thought was, it really doesn’t seem like that long. And the second thing was – you can’t really call spending time with family caregivers anything close to work.

I can tell you that visiting with each of the 75,000 family caregivers we have had the pleasure of meeting at 210 Fearless Caregiver Conferences over 23 years or for the many countless words I have banged out on this keyboard, I have received such blessings, as to be in need of a better word than work.

So here we go – how about blessaversary or shareaversaries - or even careaversaries…I don’t know, I guess I’ll just keep working on it for the next 23 years.

By the way, to all of those on LinkedIn that I have not been able to send personal replies thanking you for your kind messages - Thank you so very much.

Hey maybe that it --- I’m celebrating my 23rd thanksaversary.

Maybe we are onto something or maybe not…oh well, back to the drawing board.
