A Caregivers Lament

Invisible - ME - I AM U. C.
I am the ME, faithfully working be,
Household to run, the invincible one!
Living each day with rituals acquired,
Bemused no doubt, dementia inspired!
I am the one, there to wipe his bum,
Abhorrent to some, try not to be glum!
Staying up late, there’s meds to partake,
Once in a while, a break I could take!
I am the chosen, giv'n lifts to the frozen,
Left in charge, the ships chief bos' un!
It may be a breeze at my request to sneeze,
CAREGIVER I be, But remember, I'm still ME!
