Carenote from Leticia

Welcome to CareNotes. In this special section we will feature a reader's letter and provide an opportunity for an interactive exchange that will help find some answers and possible solutions to concerns.

What to do?

My husband takes medication for depression, doctors are really dismissing him and don't really want to help, I am getting so frustrated, he wants to die because of his pain, he feels like no one cares, but this time he did the unthinkable and scared our grandchildren by grabbing his gun and going to the garage with them seeing him after he was ranting, and I had to go out in the wet cold snow to stop him and he threw the gun down and I took it..I have to do something.

He apologized to the boys, but how do I get that thought out of their heads of their only papa trying to kill himself? I have to do something. He has had surgeries and worked with doctors and now they don't want to do anything to help him...I try so hard to let him know how much he is worth living to me and his grand-kids and his kids, but his pain makes it so hard for him...I need help.
