Afraid of being charged with a crime

My 90 yr. old mother mostly takes care of herself but she recently had some minor surgery on her rectum and the nurse filed a Adult Neglect Report because she noticed feces on her rectum. This was after a nurse came to the house that morning and gave her a enema. She has no assigned caregiver, by daughter stays there on occasion to clean hs. do laundry etc. but now we are afraid to help my mother in fear of being charged with a crime, HELP
