Carenote from Wilson

Welcome to CareNotes. In this special section we will feature a reader's letter and provide an opportunity for an interactive exchange that will help find some answers and possible solutions to concerns.

Power of Attorney

I have a situation that may be unique. My general care physician suddenly quit and signed one of the letters required for my use of the Power of Attorney saying my wife was not competent to make decisions for herself. My concern, based on my interaction during doctor visits and a couple of comments from others, that the doctor's health problem may be early Alzheimer's. My question is, if this turns out to be true, does that affect my use of the POA, is it valid or not.
