Question/Topic for Apri 2010
Now that spring is here... what plans
do you have for taking a break for yourself?

I quit work to take care of my 89yr old mom who has dementia. I do everything for her. She can be left alone for several hours at a time. We are on the edge financially so there's no money for extras, hardly enough to live on now. To give myself a break I do a couple hours volunteer work at the library and I go to the thrift store shopping. Neither costs, I meet people and I'm out of the house. I also stay up late after she goes to bed and have my "me" time.

My husband had a 5 bypass surgery on Oct. 30, 2008. He had the surgery that morning but had to go in that night because of some bleeding. His heart stopped for 10 minutes. He also had 2 strokes. He is now partially blind and cannot go back to work. I am the only caregiver 24/7 and have no help around the house. My husband can stay home alone while I work during the day. Here is my problem, I AM BURNED OUT as i am sure many of you have been. I have to get up at 4 a.m. everyday to get myself ready and then get him up. He can dress himself. I then get breakfast and finish getting ready for work. It takes me 20-30 minutes to get to work, depending on traffic. I am looking for something closer to home or to work at home. Can anyone help me, please? Thank you and have a blessed day. My email is email@example.com
