This Week's Carenote - 12/10/09
I have a  problem with my mother and her chronic back pain.  In the rehab hospital they are giving her less pain medication and she is spending her time in bed.  When I tell her she needs to get up, she tells me that her back is killing her.
Is there any advice  that could help me when she gets home?

I also have severe back problems, but your mom is not doing herself any favors by lying in bed. I have suffered for many years. My sister told me about a medication called Mobic. I feel like I have a new lease on life now. Ask her doctor about it. It's been like a miracle for me. I hope it works as well for her.

Don't wait until your mother comes home, start now. Make sure the rehab staff get her out of bed on a regular basis. When she makes this a daily habit, it will be easier for you once she is home. I wish you the very best and may God bless you for all you do.
