This Week's Carenote - 09/30/09

Hello I am taking care of my paraplegic brother and he was just dropped from medicaid. Along with all the other benefits not allowed without the proper insurance I am unable to receive help myself through the DADS program. What do I do?

My husband is in the Army and since I became a caretaker I have not been able to find work and consider this a full time job. We are barely surviving on my husbands active duty pay . Are there any other ways to help my brother and provide for my family at the same time? If there is anything  you can tell me please let me know.

Thank you

R

Since you didn't say why he was dropped I don't know if you can appeal this or not. Can you Appeal?

Dear R; I know of no other ways to help you out as we are struggling here ourselves with Parkinsons and other problems. But....your letter touched me to my very soul and I can only say that you are in my thoughts and prayers...hopefully, someone will have some ideas to help you. Me? I just want you to know I am thinking of you and care. JW
