This Week's Carenote - 04/22/09

My sister has had MS for over 20 years.  She is a very stubborn lady, and has not been willing to help herself, or take advantage of advances in treatment over the years.  At this point, she sits alone in her house,  in very  unhealthy conditions, and we see her deteriorating with each new day. Our family is concerned about her mental health. We are searching for any programs and/or resources that can guide us in some kind of intervention.

Could you offer any guidance?

I encourage you to connect with your local chapter of the National MS Society. In addition to information and potential resources they are a source for support to family members as well as those personally affected by the disease. You can contact your local chapter by calling 800-FIGHT MS or at and click on "Find A Chapter."
