That Toddlin’ Town.
Back from the snow and wind of Chicago -The Windy City. Nice
folks, great food, too darn cold! But that’s a Florida boy
talkin’. I spent a busy week meeting with friends and colleagues
at the American Society on Aging /National Council on Aging’s
annual conference. This year’s theme was “Lets RE-think Aging.”
As tomorrow is my 51st birthday, I’m all for that.
Last week, I asked for comments about your experiences with
work and caregiving. You know the saying, “Be careful what you
wish for”? My inbox was full of fascinating stories about the
challenges of being a working caregiver and how caregiving has
impacted your work lives.
Caregiver comments:
My five years of caring for my Dad, age 97, definitely
impacted my work life…Continued
Today is the one year anniversary since I went into my
husband’s room and found him in a heap on the floor…Continued

Carenotes |
I need
to know where I can get paid
for taking care of my
mother. She has dementia
and cannot do anything for
herself. I have been doing
this in NV for a very long
time and they don't have any
help there. I cannot go to
work because I have to be
with her 24 hours a day. I
am waiting on my S.S.I and
I am lost. I cannot get any
information on this, so I
am hoping that you can give
me a place to call or email.
I hope to hear from you
soon! Thank you.
